Nurse-Family Partnership transforms the lives of vulnerable, low-income women in the U.S. who are first-time mothers, and their children. It provides voluntary, free home visits by trained nurses beginning in pregnancy and sustained until the child is two years old. The goal is to end the cycle of poverty – one woman, one child, one family, one community at a time. Nurse-Family Partnership has served more than 280,000 families nationwide since its founding.
We like this program for its commitment to practices based on evidence showing that babies and moms derive long-term health, education and economic benefits from their participation.
